Chemical Peels

Whether you are interested in simply restoring your skin’s natural glow or you want to explore more aggressive chemical treatments, we offer a wide variety of peels to suit every individual’s needs.

Chemical peeling is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin and is typically performed on the face, neck, or hands.  In this treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin and allowed to soak in.  Over the next few days, the top damaged layers of skin exfoliate, peeling off to expose a new regenerated skin that is usually healthier, smoother, and less wrinkled than the old skin.

There are two basic types of peels:

Superficial peels are the mildest type of chemical peels and can be used on the face or other parts of the body.  A superficial peel is used to rejuvenate the top layers of your skin, improving the appearance of pigment changes in the skin, mild sun damage, acne scars, or fine wrinkles.

Deep chemical peels are applied only on the face and are allowed to penetrate several layers of skin targeting deeper layers of the dermis.  A deep peel of this nature would be prescribed to help reverse long-term sun damage, pronounced pigment changes, precancerous lesions and other growths, or to combat severe wrinkles.  Because this type of procedure may bleach the skin, deep resurfacing may not be recommended for people with certain skin types.

Here are just a couple of examples.  Besides reversing skin discolorations, many of the treatments we use have also displayed incredible results diminishing fine lines under the eyes, around the mouth, and softening forehead wrinkles and frown lines.
